Join us in Colombia!
Aug 19-24, 2026

Curious about Colombia? Ambassador (ret.) Charles Shapiro is leading a trip to Bogotá and Medellín to meet with a wide range of Colombian artists, academics, journalists, entrepreneurs, and diplomats to learn what makes Colombia a special and strategic country in South America. This well-rounded trip will cover policy and politics in the capital city of Bogotá and business, art, and culture in the innovative city of Medellín. We will meet American diplomats at the US Embassy and Colombian officials at the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (requested). Together, we will learn why Colombia is important to the United States and US foreign policy in Latin America.

Our group will be small by design, and the carefully curated agenda allows time to see many of the popular sites in both cities, experience Colombian food and music, exchange views with the Colombian people, and have fun! This trip is for folks who want to travel to Colombia with regional experts and gain exposure to Colombian politics, business, and culture.

If you would like to extend your trip, you can fly on to Cartagena, Colombia for great food and beaches or to Panama City, Panama to see the Panama Canal. Our partners at CET can help with reservations, but you will be on your own in these tourist friendly locales.
